Bobcat Phenomenon

We had the most interesting phenomenon this morning. Gary was up about 6:00 AM to get the morning coffee, just before sunrise, looking out the window he couldn't believe his eyes. He saw nine (9) jackrabbits in a large semi-circle and in the center of the circle was a bobcat! The bobcat was just sitting there. The jackrabbits were all facing the bobcat and didn't seem afraid. Is this normal behavior?

Apparently the bobcat got bored and decided to come up on our deck steps! The rabbits are still in the background. What strange behavior!

Here are the comments we have received so far about this strange behavior:

"The jackrabbits must’ve been praying! I’ve never seen anything like it!"

"Isaiah 11:6 talks about animals who are natural enemies living together, maybe the bobcat and rabbit should have been included?"

"My guess is that they must have young they felt were threatened and have a group defensive mechanism they can employ if desperate."
