New Zealand Continued 6

After our long journey in the bus with several stops along the way to take pictures, we arrived at Milford Sound. This is the most popular fiord tourist attraction and it is beautiful place. Pictures do not do the scenery justice. We wondered what the first explorers/arrivals must have thought when they entered this steep-walled fiord.

Here is the "Pride of Milford Sound",

It was cold and windy as you can see! Yet, beautiful and awe inspiring.

One of many waterfalls. Some 2-3 times higher than Niagra Falls.

Our ship's captain took us right up to this one.

There is usually more water in the falls, but there had been very little rain for the last few weeks.

Snow covered peaks just around the corner.

This is out at the entrance to the fiord. The Tasman Sea is supposed to be very rough and stormy, but was absolutely calm this day.
For our whole trip we had georgous weather and only slight drizzles a couple of times.
We were very fortunate.
