New Zealand Continued 5

Queenstown is a pretty little city perched on a hillside.
This is the wharf where the TSS Earnslaw Steamship is berthed (more later).
Pog Mahone's is a traditional Irish Pub where we had some great Irish lamb stew.
The next morning we boarded the Volvo tour bus for a 12 hour all day drive and cruise on Milford Sound; a fiord on the West Coast.
Our driver was great, very knowledgeable about all the local lore and kept us very entertained. Gary was also very impressed with his driving skills. The bus had a 12 speed automatic/manual transmission so it could be kept in the "sweet-spot" of the torque curve.! That bus could really corner on those very, very twisty roads! No problem keeping up with the automobile traffic! He even "pushed" them a bit!

We even had some sheep on the road!
The drive says;"Come on sheep, move! This big ole bus is coming through. You gotta keep moving through them or you'll be here all day!"

This was one of the stops on the way to Milford Sound.

These are the mountains where "Lord of the Rings" was filmed.
