Black bear for sure - happens here in central PA all the time necessitating removal of bird feeders each evening lest you find the damage you recently witnessed! Keep your feeders out and use a motion sensor light for some real entertainment! It will come back on a regular basis - likely not every night, but every couple of days if it keeps finding food in the feeders.
